Require sewer connection for Valley Center ball fields
The Issue
For the last 35 years, our Little League ball fields in Valley Center, California, have been relying on porta potties, a less than ideal solution for our young athletes and their families who come to enjoy America's favorite pastime. Despite the recent development of the Park Circle area, where they extended the sewer system, our beloved ball fields were not included in this expansion. This oversight has left our community in a tough spot, relying on temporary bathroom solutions that are neither comfortable nor hygienic.
During each baseball season, our children's games attract dozens of families, grandparents, and friends, all in support of our teams and their budding young talents. Yet, every visit is marred by the inconvenience and discomfort of porta potties. These temporary units are unsanitary and outdated, especially given that modern sanitation infrastructure is quite literally within reach.
It's completely unfair that while Park Circle enjoys an efficient sewer system, our community's ball fields continue to operate as if in the past. The reality is, we are capable of securing the necessary funding to connect these fields to the existing sewer line, ensuring proper facilities for our children and their cheering crowds.
Our Little League fields are a cornerstone of community engagement in Valley Center. They are where lifelong bonds are formed, where sportsmanship blooms, and where community spirit is uplifted. We owe it to our children and all families that participate in supporting this community to provide them with proper restroom facilities.
Please join us in calling on San Diego County Parks and Rec to take the necessary steps to extend the basic sanitation infrastructure to our ball fields in Valley Center, ensuring that families can continue to enjoy games comfortably and safely. Let's make it clear that this is essential for the well-being and dignity of our community.
We urge you to sign this petition and support the call for action. Together, we can make a difference for our Little League heroes.
