Require San Antonio Airport Authority to Upgrade Windows in Burning Tree Subdivision

Require San Antonio Airport Authority to Upgrade Windows in Burning Tree Subdivision
The Issue
As we gather for our annual National Night Out event, a pressing concern resonates throughout our community: the escalating noise pollution from the nearby San Antonio Airport. Many of our neighbors have expressed their distress and frustration with this issue, which has evolved from a mere annoyance to a significant disruption in their daily lives.
The planned expansion of the airport and changes in flight patterns may exacerbate the problem. While we acknowledge the importance of airport development and infrastructure growth, we believe that this progress should not compromise the peace and tranquility of nearby residential communities.
Our homes, built in the late 1970s, were not designed to withstand the increased air traffic and noise levels of today. Unlike some neighboring communities that have already received soundproofing upgrades, our homes still have single-paned windows that do not meet modern soundproofing standards. We are requesting that the San Antonio Airport Authority take responsibility for upgrading our windows to soundproofing standards, a crucial step in mitigating noise pollution.
We urge the Airport Authority to act responsibly and ensure that the increased air traffic does not disproportionately affect our community. We believe that a fair solution can be reached, where the airport authority bears the cost of upgrading our windows.
