I am a regular customer who orders food from various restaurants. However, it has happened to me multiple times that some parts of the food I ordered were missing from what I was paying for. This is not only disappointing but also a breach of trust between the customer and the restaurant.

This issue is not unique to me. According to a survey by US Foods in 2019, approximately 28% of delivery drivers admitted to taking food from an order (source: US Foods). This means that nearly one-third of customers could potentially be receiving incomplete orders.

We believe that when such incidents occur, it should be mandatory for restaurants or delivery services to deliver the missing items free of charge as soon as possible. It's about maintaining trust and ensuring customer satisfaction.

We, the undersigned, urge for fair treatment and resolution regarding missing items from our orders. While a refund may seem like a solution, it fails to address the inconvenience and additional costs incurred due to the missing items.

We have already paid for the item(s) and delivery, yet we are left without the products we rightfully purchased. If we wish to obtain these items, we are forced to pay delivery fees again, despite the initial failure not being our fault.

It is only fair that we receive a refund for the missing items, including the delivery fee, so we can reorder them without incurring further expenses. Alternatively, the responsible party should deliver the missing items free of charge to rectify the situation.

We call for accountability and fairness in resolving this issue promptly.

We urge all stakeholders involved in the food industry - restaurants, delivery services, and regulatory - to take this issue seriously and implement policies that protect consumers' rights.
