The goal that we are working towards is improving the Marblehead ocean quality by cutting down the misuse of boats. Marine pollution can affect the water quality, the amount of sea life in the ocean, and many ecosystems. If this happens, our coastal areas will be polluted, and there will be nothing to fish for. The main effects and causes of this problem are oil leaks and the maintenance neglect of the boats. These all occur from boaters not being informed on how to take care of their boat and how to use it responsibly. The main audience we are trying to reach is the boating community. One solution we have come up with is requiring the MA boating license to be renewed every 5 years. By doing this, we can reduce the number of uninformed boaters by having them be reminded of the rules and regulations of the MA boating laws every 5 years. Help us reach our goal to reduce marine pollution from oil spills by signing our petition today!
