Last Friday, we had a glimmer of hope. We were moving forward with billing issues, and there was a promise of financial relief to carry us through the next two months. We also secured an extension of our contract through July 24, providing a semblance of stability and assurance for our clients’ continuity of care rights. The hope was that this extension would give our clients the time to file their grievances and have their continuity of care rights upheld. It felt like a step in the right direction, a breath of fresh air amidst the ongoing struggle.
But today, that hope was shattered.
This morning, our clients received news from the county. Despite the extended contract and our efforts to secure their rights, the county plans to remove our clients from the program by July 24. Many clients now feel that the county is dismissing their right to continuity of care, disregarding the progress we’ve made and the promises we’ve held onto.
Our clients now face an uncertain future. This decision undermines their right to consistent, patient-centered care and puts their well-being at serious risk. The stability they were promised has been cruelly taken away, leaving them feeling abandoned and unheard.
We are devastated, but we are not giving up. Our clients deserve better, and we will continue to fight for their rights. We are exploring all possible avenues to challenge this decision and ensure that our clients receive the care they need and deserve.
Your support is more crucial than ever. Here’s how you can help:
