Over 1,500 signatures!

Thank you very much for your support to conserve Jetta Point Park.

This 45 acre land is owned by Seminole County.  It was originally purchased with State funds intended for conservation.  The County intends to sell it to the highest bidder, and potentially for commercial use such as a hotel.  The land is a natural watershed which recharges our aquafer, and buffers adjacent neighborhoods during flooding, all without manmade infrastructure.  Jetta Point Park has been home to bald eagles successfully nesting and raising babies for many years in the tall slash pine trees.  Gopher tortoises live on the land along with other unique species of animals and plants.

Development of this property will add traffic to the already critical intersection of 434 and 417 and place a bottleneck at the Watermark assisted living entrance which is also the 417 southbound on ramp.  The Black Hammock Trailhead of the Cross Seminole trail is a starting point for community members of all ages.  Developing the park adds risk of crime to the Trailhead and the trail itself, which forms a border of Jetta Point Park.  Whether you have concern with only one or all of these points, please make your voice heard and consider the following actions:
