Require inoculating people against opioid addiction deaths in BC

Require inoculating people against opioid addiction deaths in BC
The Issue
Whereas:
· Fentanyl and carfentanil are technologies, albeit harmful and dangerous ones, that can no easier be dis-invented than the wheel, the internet, or the nuclear weapon, technologies being developments in efficiency, heroin being about 10 times stronger than opium, fentanyl being about 50 times stronger than heroin, and carfentanil about 4,000 times stronger than heroin.
· Opioid technologies will likely further develop. The most deadly form of opioids will not be the most potent ever invented, but the one that gives more inducement to the user to promote it to others and allows the addicted user to live long enough to share it with more people, following well-established principles of epidemiology.
· Our society must prepare for a technological future where anyone may produce and consume their own opioids at virtually no cost or inconvenience, and foreign producers, criminal traffickers and opioid precursors cannot effectively be blamed or stopped.
· In this near-future world of virtually free opioid consumption at will, only those who would never consume opioids when under significant stress will be immune to the deadly and very socially contagious disease of opioid abuse disorder, while others are susceptible to self-medicating via opioids, catching an addiction, and dying of the disease.
· The best way to save lives in such a near-future world would be preventative inoculation through education and socialization, as prohibition would be useless when everyone can easily create their own opioids, and availability of resuscitation will always be more inopportune, on average, than overdoses.
We, the undersigned residents of British Columbia, plead with the Government of British Columbia Legislative Assembly to:
· Incorporate vigorous K-12 anti-opioid education in schools that is somewhat frightful at each age, to vaccinate as many as possible among future generations of British Columbians from ever touching opioids, regardless of their curiosity towards other drugs and social willingness to accept other kinds of drugs.
· As a stopgap measure for existing generations, publicize and advertise to students, vulnerable groups and the general population harrowing news of opioid deaths, the inability of users to stop of their own volition, the horrific infirmities from even moderate use, the loss of pleasure due to physiological tolerance, and the torturous torment of quitting due to psychological dependency, in relation to opioids.
