Require Immediate Online Delivery of Social Security Disability Denial Decisions

Require Immediate Online Delivery of Social Security Disability Denial Decisions
The Issue
I've been waiting for a decision on my Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) application for over two years. After a long, nerve-wracking wait, I finally received a decision: my application was denied. However, there was no detailed explanation attached to the denial in the online portal. As a result, I had to wait an additional 10-15 days for the mail, which only piled onto my anxiety. It's even more infuriating that the Social Security Administration (SSA) starts the appeal clock ticking on the same day they issue the denial, even though applicants do not yet have their denial letters in hand.
It's disheartening that the SSA is slowing down my appeal process. It's unfair, and it's time to bring change. The SSA, with its mandate to serve us, needs to streamline its processes for informing us about SSDI application decisions. The SSA should ensure that application decisions, be they approvals or denials, along with detailed explanations, should be immediately available on the SSA's online portal. This change could drastically reduce phone calls to SSA and the lengthy wait times applicants experience to hear back about their applications.
With more than 10 million people receiving SSDI benefits, and countless applications being processed every day, this change could significantly enhance the experience for those relying on SSDI. This petition seeks to bring about a much-needed change to the SSDI application process to create a more efficient, fair, and less stressful experience for all involved.
Please sign this petition and help us push for an immediate improvement in the SSDI decision disclosure process.
