As a member  of the community in which Carrington  Co-op store is  located , I can see  the rise in retail thefts and attacks and these have become  increasingly alarming. In the past year, the rate of shop thefts in Nottingham has spiked by nearly 15%, creating an increasingly dangerous work environment for those working in retail (Nottingham Post Report, 2021). Many employees are struggling, emotionally and mentally, due to the fear and unease that comes with this criminal surge.

Local businesses like this should not sit idle as crime rates rise. It's important for frontline employees, to feel adequately supported and secure at their place of work for their overall wellbeing. Thus, we are calling on Co-op to take necessary action and provide security at it's  Carrington store.

By doing so, Co-op will not only increase the safety measures within the store but also enhance overall staff morale and customer trust. We believe that these measures will directly address our concerns and significantly improve our working environment.
