The Issue

I just finished opening all the packages that came in over the last few days, and honestly, I am beyond amazed. People sent dry food, blankets, and supplies for my guys, for Charles, and for the feral cats, and it reminded me how much everyday people care when they actually see the need. Donna already loves her soft blanket, and every single package felt like proof that this community shows up.

But the truth is, rescue work should not depend only on a few kind people mailing supplies whenever they can. There are caregivers all over the place feeding feral cats, trying to keep them safe, and helping rescued cats get through another day with almost no real support. When food runs low or basic supplies run out, the cats are the ones who pay for it, and the people trying to help them get stretched past their limit.

That is why I am asking local animal shelters and animal services departments to create real partnerships with community cat caregivers. We need regular access to donated food, bedding, and basic care supplies, along with simple pickup or distribution programs that help rescuers who are already doing this work every day. If shelters say they care about animal welfare, that support has to include the feral cats and the people keeping them alive.

If you believe caring for feral and rescue cats should be a shared community responsibility, please sign this petition. Let’s turn this kindness into something lasting and make sure rescuers and the cats they care for are not left to do this alone.
