Social media and technology is ultimately what connects us together, I can't think of a day where I don't use it to talk to my friends or look at media. I am collecting signatures to support the Bill S.2765 - Advisory for AI-Generated Content Act, that would require ai generated content to have a watermark on it. Ai generated content is becoming more and more common, to the point where it is indistinguishable from what could have been produced with a camera. What my fear is that within one year, more than half of all online content we see will become Ai generated, and no one would know. There are currently zero indicators if something is Ai unless if context is provided. Imagine seeing videos of celebrities, or even your own face, and not knowing if it was real or not. There are already apps that exist that will make deep fakes of anyone's face. Do you really feel comfortable watching a TV show or looking at photographs of nature that weren't produced with human minds? What I am seeking are signatures for a Bill that would require all Ai generated content to be watermarked (because a label can be cropped out or not included in content); I plan to show my US senators and US representatives this petition in support of the Bill; "S.2765 - Advisory for AI-Generated Content Act". Please think about your own lives, and your children's lives. This can be forced into every aspect of our lives besides social media, because it already has been. Think about it, fast food restaurants already use it, a lot of people use Ai for schools, whats stopping schools from using the Ai themselves? There was an option to allow me to Ai generate a petition prompt and an image on this very website, and you wouldn't have known if I didn't tell you, (which i didn't use). I firmly believe that this bill would allow everyone to discern real media from media artificially produced. There are Ai videos and photos circulating on instagram of the fires in Los Angeles California. Imagine if in one year, no one can tell the difference of real news and Ai generated content.  It is already extremely difficult to find accurate news and social media distorts the narrative 9 times out of 10. I hope anyone who reads this will support this Bill, and it'll raise awareness to our government that majority of people want regulations on Ai. I am sure everyone remember's Coca Cola's and Honda's Ai generated ads. The un-regulation of Ai is the control of information; I have included examples of Ai generated content I have seen within my feed on the social media platform Instagram, as well a few youtube videos and news articles. Instagram and other social media apps have failed to self regulate ai generated content and encourage it. Instagram says that you are required to label ai generated content but majority of pages do not label them. I also see the un-regulation of ai as the destruction of art, or rather a replacement of art. If you feel similar to me, please support this petition, thank you. Ai Technology has developed extremely quickly and has been applied into every application possible, not even a year ago did I think this was at all possible. Please think about the long term and short term implications of how Ai will effect the rest of your lives.
