Requesting Council to reduce the gaps under the gates at Merv Lynch Dog Park,Beverly Hills

The issue

We request that the gaps under the gates at the Merv Lynch Dog Park in Beverly Hills, NSW be reduced.

The current size of the gaps under the gates at the Park presents a significant risk of dogs escaping. Several dog owners have reported instances of their dogs, even those of a medium size weighing in the region of 20kg, being able to slip through these gaps. Counter to the council's claim that the gate was installed to accommodate a wide range of breeds and is accepted by the majority, we must underscore that the majority of dogs frequenting the dog park weigh less than 20kg. It's also important to stress that no dog park attendee has been officially asked whether they "accept" the current gap size under the gate. It is essential that our public facilities, particularly those designed for the safety and enjoyment of our pets, meet satisfactory standards.

We urge the council to take immediate action to reduce these gap sizes to prevent potential escapes of small and medium-sized dog breeds. Sign this petition to ensure a safer play environment for our beloved pets at Merv Lynch Dog Park.
