Request Van Jones to Apologize for Speaking Against Muslims at the DC March for Israel

The Issue

As a Muslim living in the United States, I was deeply hurt by Van Jones' speech at the March for Israel in Washington, DC. The speech, which has been widely circulated and discussed in various media outlets, contained statements that were offensive and hurtful to Muslims not only in the U.S., but around the world.

Van Jones (@VanJones68) is a respected public figure, a political commentator at CNN so a well known US Media Personality with a significant platform. When he speaks, people listen; his words carry weight and can shape public opinion. It is therefore crucial that he uses his platform responsibly and respects all communities.

However, the comments he made, during his speech at the March for Israel on November 14 in Washington, DC, have caused distress among not only the US Muslims but over 2.5 Billions Muslims globally, who felt targeted by his remarks., particularly when he said, "let us take a stand against Muslims'".  This isn't about stifling free speech or differing opinions; it's about promoting respect and understanding among diverse communities.

At a time when Islamophobia is on sharp rise, his remarks only add up to publicly inciting hate against Muslims .  American Muslims expect him to do better, he should have said to  let's equally stand up against antisemitism, anti Muslim, and all the 'isms'.

We are not asking for censorship or punishment; we simply request an apology from Mr. Jones for any harm caused by his comments during the march.

By signing this petition you stand with us - you stand with respect for all religions and beliefs. You stand against harmful rhetoric that targets specific religious groups.
