Request to the Monarch to dissolve Parliament

Request to the Monarch to dissolve Parliament
The Issue
The Monarch of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland is asked to defend and demonstrate democracy by dissolving Parliament now, or at some time prior to 2029, so a General Election is held.
HM's government acts beyond their powers, fails to act in the national interest, and cares little for British people’s lives or livelihoods. They are confident that our respect for democracy assures them of a 5-year term to do as they please without accountability to Parliament or the British people.
Their mandate is one of democratic process alone – 9,708,716 votes, 20% of those entitled to vote – and on a manifesto that was manifestly incorrect and with glaring omissions. Yet HM's government are making irreversible decisions to sign away or threaten UK sovereignty. They do so without transparency on cost, without reference to indigenous people, without assessment of risk to the environment, without considering our national security, and without demonstrating democratic process. Their decisions appear driven by global goals, and personal interests. Not by national interests.
HM’s government is not transparent, and undermines our historic freedoms and democratic traditions, including:
- Limiting debate to prevent dissent.
- Denying requests for information.
- Limiting free speech either on the grounds of disagreement or misinformation.
- Making opaque declarations for gifts received.
- Jeopardising civil service impartiality.
- Hampering freedom of self-determination.
- Inconsistent application of force of law.
- Inconsistent recognition of innocent until proved guilty.
This is an attack on democracy itself, quite distinct from the incompetent decisions which can be produced by democracies acting within their powers. If democracy depends on people’s respect for the democratic process, it also depends on the government not abusing power and being a role model of democratic over draconian. HM’s government has failed in this regard.
These are sufficient reasons for the Monarch to dissolve Parliament now, or at any point in time within the next 5 years to defend and demonstrate democracy, so a General Election is held earlier. In the meantime, we also ask the Monarch to put the world on notice that HM’s government is not empowered to diminish UK sovereignty pending the next General Election.
This Change petition enables people to demonstrate their support for the Monarch taking steps to protect democracy. Comments and discussion can also be made on X @ukgenow2
