Request that Mexico change the name of the Gulf of California to the Gulf of Mexico

Request that Mexico change the name of the Gulf of California to the Gulf of Mexico
The Issue
Currently within the United States, what is known globally as the Gulf of Mexico is being renamed to the Gulf of America. This, while on the surface, poses no real threat, it carries implications of North American "unicontinentalism" - as in the unification of an entire continent under the rule of a singular nation, in this case the United States of America. This imperialistic notion is also carried by other actions Trump has taken. He has repeatedly requested the acquisition of Canada as the 51st state of America and buying Greenland, which he has been especially ruthful in the achievement of.
Canada as well as Denmark's governments are wildly different from the U.S.'s. Many Canadians have stated quite matter-of-factly that they wouldn't want this to go through as they'd rather not live under American rule. The leaders of both Canada and Denmark have stated outrightly that they don't want this for their people either. This may not last forever however, Trump has been incredibly relentless and aggressive with the acquisition of Greenland, it's clear he's willing to pay an incredibly steep price to buy Greenland. The same is possibly true for Canada. It likely won't stay within the bounds of North America either.
The reason for this name change is as an act of protest. As stated prior, this is quite clearly Trump's want for an American Empire. And so to protest this, while nothing of extreme will or power, the renaming of the Gulf of California to the Gulf of Mexico within Mexico's borders will, hopefully, instill more resistance against the idea of an American Empire. The exact opposite of U.S.'s reason for being.
