Email received today from Sarah Karmon, Executive Director at HAA, tying this up in a bow (at least for now!):
"I hope this message finds you well. I’m reaching out to share that email forwarding is now available to all degree holders and associate members of the HAA. Forwarding was extended to 2024 graduates earlier this summer, and they have already set up more than 1,150 accounts; and since August of last year, alumni in the Classes of 2021-2024 have set up more than 8,000 accounts.
I’m pleased that we have now completed the final phase of the transition to our new email forwarding platform. Future alumni will benefit from your efforts and I am grateful for your engagement, insight, outreach, and support over the past few years."
Deepest thanks and congratulations to each of you who signed a petition, alerted your classmates and other alumni, and supported our efforts to save our alumni email.
Thanks especially to the ad hoc committee who worked directly on this grassroots effort: Helen Fairman, David Huang, Sally Wolf, Jason Shanker, Chris Nicholson, and Clay West, and to the alums who worked directly with HAA with us: Colin Kegler, Ashraf Hegazy, PK Kumar, and Patrick Chung. Thanks also to all of the leaders of Harvard Clubs worldwide who made their members aware of our efforts, and to the many people (who shall remain nameless) who made our concerns known in private conversations with senior Harvard leadership. And finally, thanks to HAA, HUIT, the Office of the President and others at Harvard who listened and responded to the feedback from alums. This massive group effort succeeded due to the involvement of every one of you!
