Request Four Corners HOA Rebate Due to Amenity Shutdown

The Issue

COVID-19 impacted everyone but we locked arms and came together, in unity and support.

While Four Corners residents have experienced personal and financial hardship and loss, requests for discounted commons charges, due the following amenities being closed for an extended period of time, remains unanswered:

  • Clubhouse (game room, movie theater, kitchen, meeting rooms, conference room, steam rooms, sauna, locker rooms, ball room)
  • Fitness Center
  • Basketball Courts (indoor/ outdoor)
  • Tennis Courts
  • Playgrounds
  • Pool

While community amenities remain closed and activities cancelled, residents have repeatedly requested help, guidance and answers as to why full HOA common charges are required.

Many communities have since opened up amenities, especially pools during a very hot summer, but ours remains inaccessible.

Despite calls and emails by owners to Scalzo Property Management, we have not received answers or attention.

Amidst this difficult economic time, businesses have provided clients and customers with signs of support and good faith by providing discounts, rebates and kickbacks from car insurance to gym memberships, personal services to food prep and delivery.

Can our community be the exception to this measure of good faith?

In reviewing budget, there are concerning items:

— $35,000 for a pool attendant that was not hired, needed or paid

— $4,000 for pool supplies for a once-opened and re-winterized pool

— $5,000 for pool repair (?)

— $10,000 for clubhouse supplies, for a clubhouse that has been closed for 1/2 the year

— $6,000 for telephone and cable in a clubhouse residents cannot use

— $15,000 for HVAC: adjusted thermostats should be saving residents BIG the last 6 months

— $18,000 for cleaning services; that’s $375/ week. A reduced cleaning of 1x/month instead of 1x/week over the last 6 mos saved $6K alone

— $25,000 for social events... which we can’t have

— $30,000 for electricity and gas.. no use, no lights = electric bill should be dramatically reduced.

As homeowners and faithful funders of our community HOA, we stand strong, together, united.

Our individual concerns and requests have been overlooked and ignored.

The community deserves answers and a per household monetary rebate for the amenities the board has disallowed the community access to, for months.

This will not only improve trust, morale and the culture of Four Corners, it will shed light on a topic our community has sought answers on.

Please sign in support, to affirm your voice matters and to lock arms with your fellow neighbors.
