Dear friends at Spotify,

As you are well aware, the emergence of streaming music services has changed the world over the last several years. Spotify, in particular, has become one of the most important platforms for music consumption. The service you provide has revolutionized the music industry in wonderful ways. Thank you for bringing so much music to so many people and for your continued partnership with the artistic community. Spotify is amazing!

That said, current limitations of the Spotify platform concerning which types of credits can be associated with a track leave no means of including many of the talented professionals that have historically been and deserve to be credited. For example, recording engineers, mixers, and mastering engineers are all important within the artistic process.

The undersigned believe that adding support for technical credits is important for the music production community. Professionals behind the scenes should have the opportunity to be seen so their contributions and innovations can be recognized, as they have been for decades in the music industry at large. We should help to ensure that these careers remain sustainable as the technology underlying the musical arts changes. Fans should have the opportunity to learn more about these aspects of the music products they enjoy and the amazing people behind them. 

We believe that with this small addition to the metadata feature, Spotify can do a huge service to the industry and the fans  to augment the wonderful service it already provides to the world. We respectfully ask that support for technical credits be added to Spotify's track metadata and we thank you kindly for your consideration of this request.
