Request for Rezoning Everton Community to Peachtree City Schools

The Issue

As residents of Everton, we contribute to the local economy through our taxes, a significant portion of which is allocated to educational institutions. Despite this, our community is currently zoned for schools that are farther away and lower ranked as per statewide ratings. In contrast, Peachtree City's McIntosh High and Booth Middle School are not just closer but also known for their exemplary educational standards.

Rezoning to these Peachtree City schools would not only offer a shorter commute and golf cart transportation for our children but also access to a higher ranked educational system which would ultimately reflect in our children's academic performance.

We believe that education, equitable access, and property values are interlinked, and this change could significantly benefit our community.

J.C. Booth Middle School has a planned capacity of 1,400 students but currently has only 1,129 enrolled (19.4% available capacity). McIntosh High School has a planned capacity of 1,900 students but currently has only 1,669 enrolled (12.2% available capacity). These numbers show that both schools have room to accommodate Everton students without overcrowding.

We formally request the Board to review our current school zoning, consider our appeal, and allow our children the opportunity for a better education and a brighter future. Please support us in this endeavor. Every signature counts towards making a difference. Sign this petition and help our community be heard.
