Request for a New Traffic Study: Woodfield Road to Lakeview LIRR Station

To: Nassau County Legislator Nicks and the appropriate transportation and traffic authorities

We, the undersigned residents and community stakeholders, respectfully request that a new traffic study be conducted along Woodfield Road to the Lakeview Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) station.

On October 15, 2026, during a Mobile Office meeting hosted by West Hempstead Civic, community members once again raised the need to evaluate traffic conditions along this corridor.

An updated traffic study would provide valuable information to help officials assess current conditions and determine whether improvements may be necessary.

We request that the study consider:

Traffic volume, patterns, and congestion
Vehicle speeds
Pedestrian and cyclist safety
Intersection safety and traffic controls
Potential measures to improve roadway safety and traffic flow
This petition does not advocate for any predetermined traffic changes. Rather, it requests a comprehensive, objective assessment to help inform future decisions.

By signing this petition, we express our support for conducting a new traffic study along Woodfield Road to the Lakeview LIRR station.

The collected signatures will be forwarded to Legislator Nicks’ office for consideration and appropriate follow-up.
