Request bus service and infrastructure completion in Tarneit

Request bus service and infrastructure completion in Tarneit
The issue
Living in Tarneit (New Haven Estate) over the past five years has been an ongoing challenge for many in our community. The lack of essential public transport and incomplete infrastructure has made daily life increasingly difficult. What should be routine commutes have become logistical hurdles, affecting not only working adults but placing a significant burden on our schoolchildren.
The FlexiRide (on-demand) bus service is unreliable—often unavailable when needed and frequently delayed. As a result, children regularly miss trains and arrive late to school, creating unnecessary stress for families.
While many adults can drive or access nearby train stations, our children are left without dependable transport options. As parents, it is deeply concerning to see them—and many others—struggle simply to attend school. This situation demands urgent attention and action from local authorities.
The intersection of Leakes Road and Tarneit Road remains particularly dangerous for both drivers and pedestrians. Prolonged, incomplete construction has turned this area into a serious safety hazard. We strongly urge the relevant authorities to prioritise and complete this critical project to prevent accidents and ensure safer roads for everyone.
In addition, progress on local train station development has been alarmingly slow. A fully operational station would significantly improve accessibility and ease the daily pressures faced by many families.
We call on Wyndham City Council and the Victorian Government to:
- Establish a reliable and efficient bus service network in Tarneit
- Expedite the completion of the Tarneit train station
- Fast-track the completion of the Leakes Road and Tarneit Road intersection
These are not just conveniences—they are essential for a safe, functional, and connected community. Our residents deserve better infrastructure to support the well-being and future of our families.
Please sign this petition to show your support and urge our local authorities to make Tarneit a safer and more accessible place for everyone.
