Thank you for your support so far.
Hoping this letter finds you well. A huge thank you to everyone who have signed this petition advocating for the extension of the mail route throughout the post codes of Yallingup, Quindalup, and Quedjinup. Your support for this cause are greatly appreciated.
The petition has gained significant momentum, with a total of 404 signatures so far. This demonstrates the widespread recognition and importance of extending the mail route in our communities and the need to highlight an outdated and unfair postal system.
However, as we continue to push for this initiative, it's crucial to note that our work is not yet complete. While our current number of signatures is promising, we must ensure that at least 50% of the populations of Yallingup, Quindalup, and Quedjinup are on board and have signed the petition for Australia Post to take action.
Therefore, I kindly urge you to continue spreading awareness about the petition among your peers, neighbours, and community members. Encouraging more individuals to sign will significantly strengthen our case and increase the likelihood of success. This petition will run online until the 1st of May 2024, at that time final numbers will be calculated and forwarded with the request to our local member of parliament - Libby Mettam.
Traffic and congestion in Dunsborough town has increased exponentially in recent years due to the population growth and sharp rise in popularity as a tourist town. The growth of tourism and general population has made parking and accessibility to crucial services such as the post office more and more difficult and time consuming for residents. Residents have reported a 1.5 hour round trip is needed to pick up a parcel from Dunsborough Post Office during the busiest holiday seasons.
Objective of this Petition:
Extend the mail route (with parcel delivery) as per the attached map image to include Quindalup, Quedjinup and Yallingup Ridge.
If this petition doesn't reach the required amount of signatures and mail and parcel delivery is simply not possible, an after hours postal locker would be a good alternative and beneficial service as this would also eliminate the need for residents to access the Dunsborough and Yallingup post offices throughout the working day.
Together, we can make a tangible difference in enhancing the postal services in our area and improving the overall convenience for residents, particularly those with health or physical problems and free up town congestion. Thank you once again for your support, and have a very happy Easter!
