Hello everyone,

I hope this email finds you well.

I wanted to take a moment to extend my heartfelt gratitude to you for signing the petition advocating for mail delivery to Yallingup. Your support and participation in this initiative are truly appreciated.

As we continue to gather support and push for change, your involvement remains crucial. Please be sure to share this petition with anyone you think may want mail delivery to Yallingup - your partner, spouse, neighbours and friends.

The aim of this petition is to gauge the interest and enthusiasm of the Yallingup population regarding introducing mail delivery to their homes.

If adequate support numbers are received through this petition, we can take the next steps to introduce mail delivery to the area. It is important to mention that careful consideration will be be given to the potential negative impacts introducing mail delivery to Yallingup could have. It is not anyone's desire to negatively impact local townspeople, Post Office workers, businesses, nor the environment in any way and the petition will not proceed if at any stage it looks as though it could do so.

If it appears as though the Yallingup public are in favour of mail delivery, a Call to Action summarising the public's demand to introduce mail delivery to the Yallingup area will be presented to our local member of parliament (currently Libby Mettam) with the request that the local member then present the Call to Action to Australia Post on behalf of the residents.

The Call to Action will aim to resolve the following issues - please contribute more issues that come to mind, contact email is at the bottom of this email:

Issue 1: Address the current unfair and sporadic nature of the existing mail route by highlighting the varying and discombobulated locations and travel distances between current mail recipients in the Quindalup & Yallingup areas.

Issue 2: Express residents’ individual hardships and make prevalent the expenses that are a direct outcome of having to hire PO Boxes and travel to Yallingup & Dunsborough townships to retrieve mail and parcels - real life examples will be submitted from actual Yallingup residents.

Issue 3: Many businesses and organisations do not recognise PO Boxes as an appropriate mailing address, therefore letters and parcels are being delivered to the Yallingup and Dunsborough post offices, sometimes without the knowledge of the recipient. Crucial and confidential mail that is sometimes time-sensitive is being missed by residents of Yallingup.

Issue 4: As mentioned in issue 3, many businesses and organisations do not recognise PO Boxes as an offical mailing address. Many residents of Yallingup are having to use other people's home addresses to send their mail and parcels to.

Issue 5: Recent growth of the Dunsborough and Yallingup populations has caused the town centres to be on occasion, impenetrable. Introducing mail delivery to the Yallingup area would decrease congestion within the town centres by the way of people not having to frequent the local post offices.

Issue 6: Increase in tourism in recent years has turned a simple trip to the post office into a possible 1.5 hour ordeal for some residents. During peak tourist seasons, parking has become very hard to find, if available at all and the line to wait for service especially at the Dunsborough Post Office is sometimes out the door.

Issue 7: Town expansion has caused areas that used to be ‘out of town’ to now be ‘part of town’ and residents of Yallingup that are being excluded from home mail delivery are literally 5 - 10 minutes from the Dunsborough & Yallingup town centres and in some cases less than 100 metres from their neighbours who are currently receiving mail. It is an outdated mail system.

Desired Outcome of this Petition /  Call to Action:

To expand the existing mail route to incorporate more residential properties of Quindalup & Yallingup, specifically pertaining to the following locations where residents have expressed interest so far:

Cornerstone Way, Balmoral Dr, Mclaren Dr, Biddle Rd, Hebrides Cl, Kinross Lp, Sonning Lp, Sheaok Dr, Porter Ct, Shallows Lp, Marrinup Dr, Commonage Rd, Summerville Cr, Woodbridge Vale, Lombo View, Rapida Rise.

We hope to achieve a fair, regulated, free home mail delivery service provided by Australia Post for the residents of Quindalup, Yallingup, and Yallingup Ridge areas.

We encourage everyone to share their personal experiences and challenges regarding having to visit the townships to collect their mail and parcels, as this will help us better articulate the need for mail delivery to the greater Quindalup, Yallingup / Yallingup Ridge areas. Please leave a comment in the comment section of this petition or please email  -  ashiest_syrupy.0b@icloud.com

Once again, thank you for your commitment and support.

Kind regards,

Susan Carson.
