Request a Review for the Case of Terrell L. Tensley a Man Wrongfully Imprisoned for 18 yrs

The Issue

What would you do if this was your father, your brother,  your sister,  your mother  or son?  Could you turn your back and act like you don't know an innocent person is behind bars.  What if this was you?  Wouldn't you want someone to hear your voice? To help?

This story  involves a man who has spent the greater part of his life trapped behind bars for a crime that he did not commit. Stripped of his freedom, his family, and his basic human rights, Terrell Tensley has been enduring this hardship for the past 18 years. A few years ago the key witness in his case recanted, revealing that Terrell is innocent.  Unfortunately the key witness was also a victim, fighting battles of her own.  Having been coerced into making statements that were not true, she was forced to do something she otherwise would not do.  Despite her legally documented confession as to what really happened, Terrell continues to languish in prison, separated from his loved ones who desperately need his presence.

Furthermore, it has come to light that his defense was marred by ineffective counsel, adding to the litany of rights violations in his case. Throughout these years, his desire to tell his story and see justice served has never waned.

We must address the grievous errors that have perpetuated this tragedy by demanding a thorough re-examination of his case. In this rich, democratic society where justice is touted as a paramount virtue, we cannot stand idle while an innocent man pays the price for a crime he did not commit.

We petition that authorities urgently revisit this case. Let us stridently fight this gross miscarriage of justice and help bring him and his family the closure they deserve. Terrell has been fighting for his freedom for over 18 years now.  This ongoing battle has put a strain on him and his family, emotionally, mentally, physically and financially.  Please help by signing this petition and lend your voice to justice.  We need your help.
