Someone defaced my petition with the words "One bike lane is bad enough" and had also defaced an LGBT club poster on one of the bulletin boards at the university. I don't get why bike lanes are so controversial. We can tell what kind of person this is by being a disrespectful petty bigot. People have the right to disagree, but they vandalise the things of those who disagree. It seems like they want cyclists to get hit. To this person, to be petty back, I say, the one you are likely referencing on Hal Greer is a two-way protected cycle track, not a bike lane. A lane is for one direction only. And there are other bike lanes in Huntington, though few and far between and usually merely painted door-zone bike lanes with white lines and sharrows or the occasional sign saying "bike route" on a side street with a 25-30 mile an hour speed limit and no traffic calming or bike lane.
