APPEAL FOR FINANCIAL SUPPORT
As our legal battle escalates, so do our costs. The real legal battle is just starting.
All the legal processes until now where just warming-up phases.
With the introduction of some of the best legal heads in the country working for the government and the oil companies (some of which wrote some of the laws that governs Portugal), we are preparing ourselves for some interesting legal challenges based on legal technicalities rather than the merits of the cases.
And we have just faced the first one, which we successfully deflected thanks to the massive support from the “people” that gave us a clear mandate to run the Class Action. But there will be more. One strategy they will use is to try and exhaust our legal funds.
But the fact is that we have not dedicated years of our lives to this cause, to give in to their fancy legal footwork. It’s our environment that is at risk, it’s our way of life, it’s our local economy, and it’s the common good and the “people” that is on trial versus big businesses interests.
