I've lived in Kenmore area for over 5 years and every year, multiple times a year, there are multiple accidents at the intersection of Parker Blvd and Kenmore Ave in the 14223.

Today is July 24th 2026 and the picture above shows the 3rd accident in the past week and a half however this time, an ambulance had to be called.

Last winter, someone had a head-on collision with a tree trying to avoid another driver at the traffic light. I am absolutely sick of seeing my neighbors colliding with each other due to the poor street planning.

The problem with the intersection is that as Rosemary Ave on the Buffalo side turns into Parker Blvd in the Kenmore side, the streets do not line up properly and there is an awkward positioning that can increase the likelihood of accidents due to said layout. In addition, the light changes more rapidly than the traffic can keep up with at such a densely packed intersection.

Something has to be done about this issue as people's lives are in danger due to this defunct infrastructural planning and roundabouts are, statistically speaking are a much safer alternative to a hazardous stoplight. There have been studies that have indicated that roundabouts showed reductions in injury crashes of 72%-80% and reductions in all crashes of 35%-47% (Hu et al., 2026; Retting et al., 2001; Eisenman et al., 2004; Rodegerdts et al., 2007).
