Fireworks have been enjoyed by families in Woodstock for decades, both socially and culturally. Simply banning them instead of applying other, reasonable remedies for folks to enjoy them in a safe and responsible manner was unnecessary and was not based on any proven safety or misuse infractions. We believe that with proper regulations and safety measures, fireworks can continue to be a part of our community celebrations without posing significant risks.

We urge Woodstock City Council to repeal or amend the bylaw that banned the purchase, sale, use, and discharge of fireworks. Let’s work together to find a balanced solution that allows us to preserve this cherished tradition while ensuring public safety.
