As a resident of Coraki, NSW, Australia, I am deeply concerned about the state of our only playground. This park is a vital part of our community, frequently used by families and children. However, since the February floods in 2022, its condition has been deteriorating rapidly.

The sole bench within the playground boundaries has been damaged severely. The wood is now rotted to a point where ants have made it their home to evade the wet ground. These ants bite when the ground is waterlogged which poses an additional risk to park-goers.

Moreover, a section of the fence and lock on the gate are also damaged which compromises safety standards. The swing - an essential feature for any playground - is also in disrepair.

This situation not only diminishes recreational opportunities but also raises serious safety concerns for our community members who use this facility regularly.

We urge local authorities to take immediate action towards repairing and upgrading our beloved playground. It's time we ensure that this space remains safe and enjoyable for everyone in Coraki.

So far we have received a reply from the General Manager from council and the park should be completed by the 30th of June.
