Because of all your work, the Associated Press has carried the story of the Bicentennial Mural across the Nation, along with other media outlets like the evening news. Even though, the Army Corps plans to Strip the Mural Thursday June 4th, ignoring the lawsuit that has been filed. The attorney representing the Mural Conservancy of LA is hard at work to stop them. We have also discovered there is no Lead Based Paint in the Mural and that it was Congressman Ken Calvert who told the Corps to get rid of the mural ! With this last minute information, it's vital we contact Congressman Calvert's office. Tell him to contact the Army Corps Of Engineers, to halt the stripping of the Mural and have them work with the Mural Conservancy of LA to properly restore it. Were just 8 days from June 4th. Volunteers are working hard, but at the end of the day it's you, the 8,000 petitioners that made all this happen.
