Petition updateSave The Largest Patriotic Mural In AmericaBeing at the Corps Meeting on Thursday was like the 4th Of July!!

Prado DamCorona, CA, United States
Apr 12, 2015
The Auditorium at Corona High was filled with nearly 350 supporters of the Prado Dam Bicentennial Mural. The Army Corps Of Engineers were gracious to a fault and carefully listened to over 30 speakers who shared their feelings for the mural each with thunderous applause!
Rep. Ken Calvert left before the speakers were brought up and never took a position. Two Corona City Council Members, Dick Haley and Randy Fox spoke as private citizens in support of the mural. Council member Karen Spiegel also approached the mic to say she heard the position of the supporters loud and clear.
SO NOW WHAT?
Col. Kim Colloton said, "maybe it isn't a competition. You’ve made a clear message, very strong, and it’ll be taken into consideration.”
Thursday nights meeting was a mandate that proves there is no legitimate support from the public, or a signal elected official, to hold a contest for a new mural design.
But to date, nothing has actually changed. The Bicentennial mural is still scheduled to be stripped on April 27th.
To save the mural from desecration and destruction, legal Counsel is at work until the Corps accepts the public's will. All of us are volunteers and much of the legal work has been at no charge
Everyone who has signed the petition, made calls and come to Thursdays meeting has made history. The mural would have been lost without you! We have more momentum now than at any other time. Here's to future generations enjoying the seeds you have planted. The Link below goes to photos from Thursdays meeting.
