Hello everyone,

Last week on Wednesday 15th March 2023, I had a meeting with GreenParty NI Leader Mal O’Hara as well as Deputy Leader Lesley Veronica.

During this meeting I outlined everything about where this campaign stemmed from, our inspiration and most importantly, what we are lobbying for at this current moment in time.

After a lengthy back and forth about all things public transportation, the leader and deputy leader both agreed with me that the most important thing the Green Party can do to aid our cause is to help Translink find the £25,000 of funding they require to undertake a feasibility study into reopening the Antrim - Lisburn Line.

Additionally, we also agreed that serious pressure needs to be put on Translink and the Department for Infrastructure to have this promised feasibility study funded, conducted and completed before Belfast grand Central Station opens its doors in late 2024.

I am thoroughly happy with the meeting I had with Mal and Lesley and I very much look forward to working with them as time goes on to help build a better public transport network for a better Northern Ireland.
