Reopen Party City Stores Nationally Despite Bankruptcy Filing

The Issue

I am presenting this petition as a concerned individual who values the existence of physical retail businesses in our contemporary digital age. It is important to me, like many others, that Party City, a business familiar to countless consumers, should remain operational, even post-bankruptcy. Party City filled a niche that online stores can't fully replicate, offering a tangible, real life adventure of party planning that many families enjoy. The sudden dearth of this beloved chain because of its bankruptcy filing last year doesn't only diminish shopping variety, but also costs thousands of employees their jobs.

Before its bankruptcy, Party City saw an annual revenue of about $2.3 Billion with roughly 900 stores actively functioning across the US and Canada (source: Yahoo Finance). We cannot stand by while such a significant contributor to our economy, job market, and indeed, our community spirit, simply disappears. We urge financial institutions, investors and the management of Party City to carefully reconsider alternative strategies that could lead to the revival of this company.

Let us not overlook the unique value that physical stores like Party City bring to our lives and our neighborhoods. Let's act together to save and protect them. Please, sign this petition and voice your support for keeping the lights on in Party City stores.
