Reopen The Harwich To Esbjerg FerryCopenhagen, Danemark
28 juil. 2017
Friends, over the past few years, we have campaigned for a ferry to Denmark, because of the closure of the last remaining ferry route between England and Denmark. Since August 2014, when this all began, I never believed that I would be one of the leaders, in the fight for a UK to Denmark ferry. I never thought we'd have over 2,500 pledged supporters. I never thought we'd have over 850 group members, and still today, I often look at the group statistics and think, how far we have come, from nothing, and very little media, and political support. All of our success should be attributed to you, and nobody else. I would also like to thank, every single person, who ever contributed in anyway, and I can't wait to see what we do in the future, where I can tell, we will make even more significant success. . Throughout the past few weeks, there has been discussion within this group, about what route we are campaigning for, and which country, we want the destination of this route to be. Let there be no doubt, I respect everyones opinion of what is viable, and what is not, however my friends, with all this infighting, we will get NOTHING done, and the longer this infighting continues, we will get NOTHING done. While we have made significant strides this year, such as securing the return of Sirena Seaways, and Hasse M. Pedersen's multiple proposals, we won't be able to win this war, if we can't agree on what we are fighting for. Today, we need to unite, and end this infighting, because we need to fight for those who can't, those who are disabled, those with a fear of flying, those who can't drive. If we continue like this, we are not fighting for them, we are letting them down. I created this group to fight for those people, as I heard their outcry, when their route ended. I did not do this for myself, but for them, and I am sure, that is why many people joined this group. . That is why, today I am launching 'RHEG Decides', which is a poll which will decide what we want, and what we want to campaign for. Voting will be open for 24 hours, and will include 2 options: "UK to Denmark" and "UK to Norway". It has been decided to not include the ports, as I believe at this stage in our campaign, we are in no position to pick and choose which port we want. I would be lying, if I said, I wouldn't be disappointed if Denmark was not our choice, however I truly believe that we need a clear choice, to end this in-fight, and to get something done. Thank you.
