Unabated urban sprawl is quickly encroaching on the rural communities nearest the City of Reno.  This encroachment endangers our very way of life, threatening our open spaces, overcrowding our roads and schools, and stretching thin our public safety systems.  Steamboat Meadows Development, in particular, wants to put almost 300 homes in the pristine 35 acre meadow directly behind Steamboat Hotsprings.  Steamboat Valley currently has less than 150 homes on its 800+ acres.  Adding this many "urban homes" is totally incongruent with the wide-open, rural, agricultural and historical Steamboat Valley.  Please tell Reno City Council that this is not in the best interest for the citizens of Nevada.
