Dear Mayor of the Township of Leeds and the Thousand Islands,

Zavikon Island Bridge, located amidst the beautiful Thousand Islands in the Saint Lawrence River, symbolizes more than just a crossing between two countries; it represents a connection between people and cultures. However, to honour the man who has done more than anyone to impact the relations between Canada and the United States, we propose renaming the bridge to the President Donald J. Trump Bridge.

President Donald J. Trump, the 45th and 47th President of the United States, and his tenure has been marked by transformative policies and initiatives that resonate globally. Acknowledging his influence by renaming the Zavikon Island Bridge would serve as a tribute to his efforts in irrevocably changing cross-border relations between the United States and Canada. It would also attract attention to the area, giving historical significance to the bridge.

Furthermore, renaming the bridge can be a step towards cementing the legacy of President Trump in geographical landmarks where it will be widely recognized and remembered by generations to come. The name change can play a significant role in encouraging public discourse around his contributions to international diplomacy.

We feel that renaming the world's smallest international bridge would symbolize the impact of President Trump's legacy, as he should be immortalized in something of equal size and grandeur.
