As a former student of Niagara College and former residence advisor at the Niagara College Residence I am urging the authorities at Niagara College to rename the Residence Building in honor of the late Jeff (Jack) McKinnon. 

Jeff McKinnon played an instrumental role in making Niagara College a better place for everyone. As a key member of NCSAC, he worked tirelessly to make the student experience at Niagara College welcoming and supportive for everyone.

Moreover, Jeff served as a Residence  Service Representative at the residence Building, where he made a significant impact on the lives of numerous students. And ensured  everyone felt safe and welcomed in the residence community, His friendly nature, approachability, and genuine concern for their well-being made him a beloved figure among the residents. Jeff's dedication to fostering a supportive living environment is a testament to his character and his commitment to the betterment of others.

By renaming the Niagara College Residence Building in honor of Jeff McKinnon, we will ensure that the memory of him and what he stood up for lives on. It will serve as a reminder of his unwavering dedication, advocacy, and positive influence within our residence and college community. Additionally, this act of recognition will demonstrate our commitment to inclusivity, support, and the values that Jeff strongly believed in.
