Rename the Bay Bridge segment to 'Warrior Bridge'

Rename the Bay Bridge segment to 'Warrior Bridge'
The Issue
I'm reaching out to all fans of the Golden State Warriors and residents of the Bay Area to join me in advocating for a meaningful change that honors our beloved Warriors and the rich history of Oakland. The Warriors, a phenomenal and storied team that has captured the hearts of fans worldwide, originated right here in Oakland before their relocation to San Francisco. Oakland has always been an integral part of the Warriors' identity, and what better way to commemorate this than by renaming the Oakland-Treasure Island segment of the Bay Bridge to "Warrior Bridge"?
The "Bay Bridge" is a generic name that can technically be shared by every other bridge in the Bay Area, such as the Golden Gate, Carquinez, Richmond, Dumbarton, and San Mateo bridges. Each bridge in its name carries a piece of history or a defining feature. Yet the Bay Bridge, being the most advanced and greatest bridge in the Bay, has the misfortune of falling victim to generic-ass-name itus.
The name "Warrior Bridge" not only pays tribute to the incredible journey and legacy of the Oakland Warriors but also serves as a constant reminder to residents and travelers of the cultural and sports heritage deeply rooted in Oakland. Additionally, it symbolizes the passage from Oakland to San Francisco, reflecting the shared stories and connections between these two vibrant communities.
This renaming initiative is not just about a name change; it’s about preserving and celebrating a vital part of our local history and identity. It's an opportunity to honor a team and a community that has accomplished so much and has united people across various backgrounds.
Please support this petition to make "Warrior Bridge" a reality. Your signature represents more than just a name; it is a pledge of recognition for the bond between Oakland and San Francisco and our significant contribution to the sports world and our community's enduring spirit. Join me in preserving this legacy by signing the petition today.
