Great Night at the Oscars!

Thank you for tweeting and sharing our petition through last night’s Oscars. John Legend and Common’s ‘Glory’ won Best Original Song, and the Edmund Pettus Bridge found it’s way into the awards last night. Watch their stunning Oscars performance on the bridge here: http://bit.ly/17SPvGp Like ‘Glory’ says: “Now we right the wrongs in history, No one can win the war individually.” We have over 12,000 signatures—that’s over half the population of Selma—from people that are ready to remove the white supremacist name from the bridge. Selma has more issues than a bridge name, and our work requires more than hashtags and emails. Our local theatre program, the Random Acts of Theater Company (RATCo) teaches young people that we are all more alike than different, and we have our own bridge song.
