This petition has received so much support in very little time thanks to all of you who have signed, commented and shared it. Local press took notice and the petition has been circulating all over the country and even to Dolly herself!  

The Tennessean reported, "Parton discussed the potential of her name being officially tied to Music City's global travel hub exclusively backstage at Belmont University's Fisher Center for the Performing Arts on Tuesday morning.”  When asked how she felt about the airport potentially touting her name she said, "I mean, it does sound like a lot of fun to say: "'Your flight is departin' from Nashville's D. Parton,'

Humble as ever, Dolly continued, "But I couldn't imagine what (having my name attached to the airport could be) as an actual thing." 

Let's show Dolly (and the legislators) that we are serious. Her classic humble responds reflects the exact values that make her a phenomenal choice for renaming. Travel is stressful. Whether you are arriving or DeParton' from Nashville, Dolly's presence even in name will help ease the pains.
