I still vividly remember the day - not for a promotion or a joyful event, but for an encounter that left me feeling like a mere cog in a machine.

As I walked into the "Human Resources" Department, the harsh reality of being reduced to a number, a problem to be dealt with, hit me hard.

The mechanically polite responses didn’t soothe, but instead stung sharply. That day, I fully comprehended the paradox - I was neither viewed nor treated as a human in the so-called Human Resources Department. It was then I realized the need to change this system, which was personal and deeply transformative. 

The term "Human Resources" carries the undertone of employees being mere resources to be managed and optimized for productivity. However, employees are not commodities. We're humans with aspirations, problems, and complexities. It is high time we reevaluate this outdated terminology and rethink how we address and treat employees within organizations.

Our request echoes the voice of millions of employees globally who believe in the vision of being seen and respected as individuals.

It calls for all organizations across the globe to rename their Human Resources Departments to People Departments.

We believe that this shift in nomenclature will be a step towards rehumanizing workplaces and acknowledging the individuality of each employee.

It is a small step, but it can be the stepping stone for more substantial changes in worker’s rights and creating a more humane work environment.
