In March of 2026, Dolores Huerta spoke up about how César Chavéz had sexually assaulted her and many other young girls during her time working with him. It is unacceptable that a government building should be named after a rapist, regardless of what good things they had also done in their life. The building should be renamed to the Dolores Huerta Memorial Building, since she had the courage to speak up about this and was instrumental in the Delano grape strike movement.
