Rename Atlanta's Henry W. Grady High School

Rename Atlanta's Henry W. Grady High School
The Issue
Update: after realizing that there are two very similar petitions, we have decided to merge them - so we will be deprecating this one soon (as the other one has many more signatures!). Please take a quick moment to visit https://www.change.org/p/atlanta-high-school-still-memorializing-white-supremacist-time-to-change-atlanta-public-board-of-education-add-black-members-to-the-naming-committee-meeting-for-grady-high and make sure to add your name and any comments there as well! Please only share that link from here on out.
The students have spoken. The Atlanta School Board should take immediate action to rename Henry W. Grady High School.
As proud alumni, current students, members of the Atlanta community, and other concerned citizens, we believe the school's name should reflect the values we hope to instill in current and future generations of students: diversity, racial equality, and social justice. Henry Grady's segregationist and supremacist comments - reported by the school's own student newspaper - do not align with these values. In fact, the school's mantra "Individually we are different, together we are [Grady]" today rings hollower than ever.
