A new addition in all of Fairfax public schools is the yondr pouch.

Every student who has some kind of device such as AirPods, phones, etc have to put their devices in one of these pouches every morning and unlock them every afternoon. These pouch’s are very expensive to replace if lost or broken at the price of $18 just for a replacement. These pouches and the magnetic stations end up costing thousands per school.  These pouches also don’t help with kids being on their devices because the kids just don’t put their phones on their pouch or they find ways to open them. If we get rid of these pouch’s that are costing the schools and students money then we could use this money on improving teacher wages, or helping them but more equipment. Finally having a phone can be very important for being able to contact people on case of an emergency. Without their phones students can be left helpless during an emergency.

We have to make this change now so teachers can get the supplies they need and have students paying less for something that they don’t need. This is why we need to remove yondr pouches from FCPS.
