Whitley Warriors' entrance into the Scottish national league has become a source of concern for many teams and fans alike. Their reputation for playing with what many perceive as "dirty tactics" has created tension and hostility within the league, raising questions about the spirit of sportsmanship and fair play. Most recently, an incident involving their team resulted in the tragic end of Andy Little's promising career due to an egregious challenge, for which only a ten-game suspension was handed out. Many feel this penalty falls short of addressing the seriousness of the violation and fails to deter such harmful behaviour.

Increased incidents of aggressive behaviour are not limited to the players alone but extend into the fanbase as well.  The hostile environment that seems to follow the team. Such actions disrupt the sense of community and enjoyment that ice hockey should bring and reflect poorly on the league as a whole.

The integrity and safety of the Scottish national league's environment must be preserved to ensure the well-being and fair treatment of all players and teams involved. Continuing to allow a team that is perceived to undermine these principles, in the eyes of many, diminishes the league's values and reputation.

We propose that the league takes definitive action to remove Whitley Warriors from participating, safeguarding the inclusive and competitive environment that the league strives to uphold. This decision would not only protect the players and teams currently participating but also demonstrate a zero-tolerance policy towards harmful practices and behaviours.

Supporting this petition means advocating for a fair and respectful sports environment where safety and integrity are prioritized. We call on the governing bodies of Scottish national league ice hockey to take a firm stand against any form of bullying and violence by ensuring that all participating teams are upholding the true spirit of the game.
