Remove Unfair Supervisor From VATSIM Network
Remove Unfair Supervisor From VATSIM Network
The Issue
My story is one rooted in passion and dedication to the world of aviation. As a Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) in real life, and a dedicated VATSIM staff member, I have always made it my mission to provide support to beginners on the VATSIM network. Yet, I was falsely accused of not being beginner-friendly by a supervisor on the network. This misunderstanding threatens not only my reputation but all the efforts I've invested in making VATSIM a more welcoming and accessible space for newcomers.
Day in and day out, I utilize my real-world knowledge and experience to organize beginner-friendly events and mentor newcomers onto the network. This experience has been marred by a false accusation that stands to besmirch my record, a record I've spent considerable resources, both time and money, to build. It's disheartening to think that all of this could be undermined by a single misunderstanding.
According to a 2018 study, 94% of new users find the VATSIM community to be welcoming and supportive. (Source: VATSIM New User Survey, 2018). This is a testament to how the VATSIM community promotes inclusivity and accepts different levels of expertise, which is in stark contrast to the accusation levelled against me. The wrongful judgement of a single person should not stand in the way of the positive impact numerous tutors and mentors like myself bring to the community.
I strongly believe in the VATSIM community, but I cannot remain part of a network that does not ensure fair treatment for all its members. It's time that this issue is dealt with in a just manner. I ask you to join me in this quest for justice. By signing this petition, we can urge the VATSIM authorities to remove the supervisor in question and uphold a fair judgment for all members engaged in this global community. Please, sign this petition and help make a stand for justice and fair play.
