Remove Unauthorized Aarey Milk Stall obstructing Pedestrian footpath onPatthe Baburao Marg
The Issue
On 10th June 2025, an Aarey Milk booth type stall, measuring 6 feet by 15 feet, was installed using a crane on the pedestrian footpath of Patthe Baburao Marg, adjoining Navjivan CHS Community Hall. Despite numerous online and manual complaints, the issue remains unresolved with no reason cited by the authorities. Not only does this stall obstruct pedestrian footpath, it poses a potential hazard with the nearby MCGM garbage collection point, and forces pedestrians to walk on the already traffic-congested road.
Though Aarey Milk has been shut down, its licensed stall continues to exist, causing inconvenience to the general public. Ironically, none of them sell Aarey products. Besides this, there are already four Aarey stalls on the adjoining periphery footpath of Navjivan Society and 20 MCGM license stalls set up on the adjoining footpath of BIT Chawl.
Given this situation, it's clear that the problem isn't individualized; rather, it's systemic. A disregard of public spaces and public safety is evident. This calls for a stringent and swift action by the authorities. The personal nature of this issue goes beyond a single story - it's about safeguarding our right to safe and unobstructed public spaces. We seek support in sending a clear message to the authorities: it is time to remove this stall and restore the pedestrian footpath for the public. Please sign this petition to stand up for public safety and rights.
