Remove The Woody Show from 105.7 The Point in St. Louis
The Issue
I am a long-time listener of 105.7 The Point in St. Louis, Missouri, but it's become unbearable to keep tuning in every afternoon. The reason? The Woody Show—a program that feels like nothing more than a hateful cesspool that has displaced what once was local talent with content that promotes sexism and misogyny. This show's tone and subject matter are offensive and entirely inappropriate for our community.
Liv, a cherished and talented personality, was unjustly let go supposedly because of budget constraints. Yet shortly thereafter, 105.7 The Point imported The Woody Show from Los Angeles into our local airwaves. How can this be considered a responsible decision? Instead of keeping and supporting local professionals who resonate with the St. Louis community, the management has opted for a show that exhibits an alarming level of discrimination and disdain.
Statistics have shown that radio shows with inclusive content foster stronger community ties and lead to enhanced audience engagement. The Woody Show, however, does nothing to support these goals. According to numerous reviews and firsthand listener testimonies, this show often perpetuates negative stereotypes, mocks marginalized groups, and contributes to a culture that is both exclusive and detrimental to the community's well-being.
It's time for 105.7 The Point to make a choice in favor of integrity and community. We urge the station to bring back homegrown voices like Liv's who understand and truly represent the spirit of St. Louis. Choosing programming that aligns with our community values will set an example for our city that inclusivity and respect matter above all else.
Join me in demanding a change. Let’s reclaim our airwaves and remove The Woody Show from 105.7 The Point. Sign this petition to encourage the station to reinstate Liv, and ensure that our radio broadcasts celebrate diversity and foster respect in our community. This is about more than just a radio station; it’s about reclaiming our community's dignity and respect. Sign now to make a difference!
