Dear Ms Hoibak,

File Ref: TM38.5

Thank you for your email and I apologise for the time it has taken to respond.

As you will know by now, the removal of the speed humps was temporary. Their removal was necessary to allow us to repair the carriageway underneath them and they have since been replaced.

Its clear that you would like to have them permanently removed and to do so, we must conduct a public consultation to determine the level of public and stakeholder support while also weighing up the risks/benefits of their removal. It might also be worth noting that alternative methods of speed management are not without their own disadvantages, e.g., blatant disregard and excessive speeding/braking between build outs.

For us to consider progressing the removal of the speed bumps to public consultation it would be useful to gauge the level of support from other affected residents by way of a petition. I must inform you that this process is laborious and (if taken forward) would be placed at the bottom of the list of public consultations for us to complete and implement.

I trust this explains the situation sufficiently.

Regards
