South Africa and White Privilege

CARS Coalition Against Racism in Schools
7 May 2018
This is an excerpt from a conversation I had with Teresa Downs. I have to wonder if she has ever spoken with someone who actually lives there? Teresa Downs: What I'm saying of those certain factors are, there are certain ways that people engage in society where treatment is better or different to a betterment if you have white skin, research has been very clear about that. Me: Is it based on locality? Because can you tell somebody that who lives in South Africa? Teresa Downs: Well, I think most people who do deep reading about what happens in South Africa would say that the people of white skin have absolute the power and the privilege. Below is a post attached from Jamie Caccia who had a conversation with a couple from South Africa. The post really is an eye-opener, it's too bad our school district is turning a blind eye.
